Iceland Photo Diary: Hofn & East Fjords/Seydisfjordur

As we continued to drive along the ring road, we eventually hit Seljavallalaug, a thermal pool in the middle of a mountain valley. It was about a 15 minute hike to find, but one of the most breathtaking places I've ever been to. The water was a bit icky, but I'd do it all over again if I had the chance :)

^^ Svartifoss Waterfall, we hiked a bit to reach it but it was totally worth it!

^^ The Glacier Lagoon was unreal. We saw seals!

We spent two nights in Seydisfjordur, a small little town in the middle of a breathtaking mountain valley. We drove over the mountain through snow caps in what looked like the North Pole, and then as we drove down the mountain the temperature got way warmer and then along came this adorable and quaint town.
^^ Picked up this cute hand knit ear warmer in a local shop
^^ Matt went for a surf!
^^ We went puffin watching and were able to see some!

Anyway, I am still in Barcelona but will be back soon with more regular updates!! XO

Iceland Photo Diary: Reykjavik & Vik

We began our trip to Iceland by flying into the Keflavik airport and we rented a car to roadtrip on the ring road. On our way to Reykjavik we stopped at the Blue Lagoon to find out what all the hype was about! I have to say, touristy and all, that this was one of my favorite places! I sipped a carrot juice and exfoliated my face, and it was heaven.

Our second two days we stayed in the Iceland Air Hotel Vik, and explored all of the waterfalls and hikes surrounding Vik (there's a TON!) Here's some of our favorites, including Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss + Gullfoss.

^^ Gullfoss
^^ I kept stopping to pet horses, they're so beautiful!

^^ Skogafoss

More Iceland photos coming soon! I'm off to Spain for the next week or so, but make sure to follow my adventures on instagram and snapchat: steffyspandcs!

Amsterdam Tulips

Getting to see the tulips in Amsterdam was one of my favorite things of all time. It seriously looks like tons and tons of M&M's from far away, until you drive closer and realize that they're perfectly planted tulips! It looks fake, and even in seeing these photos I still cannot believe they're real.

In all honesty, we snapped some pictures but I was SO amped about being there that I didn't make the photos the focus of it at all. I tried to not make the photos the focus of any of this trip, and we honestly didn't take too many "outfit" type photos. I hope you enjoy these more realistic pictures, because Matt and I are silly and adventurous and hopefully this captures that!

We're off to Spain for a while on Monday, so tons more photos and adventures coming soon!

Amsterdam + Adorable Navy Oxfords

Before heading to Iceland, we took two days to stop into Amsterdam and visit some college friends. I had never been before, and Matt had only visited when he was a little kiddie.

We spent our only full day there exploring the gorgeous city by bike, and taking a tour through the canals compliments of our friends! Biking around there is DEFINITELY nerve wracking, with other bikes and scooters whizzing by, but it was the most efficient way to get around and see as much as possible in a short amount of time! Our friends live downtown which was extremely convenient, and we were able to see a big chunk of the city including the infamous I AMSTERDAM sign, eat the indonesian food we've heard so much about and catch the last of the out of this world tulips I've always dreamed of seeing (more on that soon!)

My clothes are slowly getting a bit tighter on me, so I was super comfy running around in overalls and these adorable oxfords by Timberland from Zappos. I never really wore heels much to begin with, and now they are totally out of the question, but I of course still want to be stylish while being comfy! These shoes were PERFECT for that, and I could seriously bike in them, and then wear them out to dinner and still feel cute. The best part is that Zappos offers free shipping and a 365 day return policy so if you want to trade them in, you can (and the customer service reps are the BEST.)

There's tons more trip pictures soon to come, stay tuned!

* I teamed up with my friends at Zappos.com to bring you this post! Thanks for supporting my sponsors!

IT'S A...

BOY!

... Let me just preface this and share that Matt told me my neck looked 'freakishly skinny' and that's what made me crack up in this picture. hahahah! It does look weirdly small compared to my growing belly, maybe? So funny LOL.

We are so excited to finally share that we're having a little man! I knew from the get-go he was a boy, because I grew up with two brothers, and always just felt like I would have sons. We're so excited to meet him, and raise him on the beach, and take him on bike rides on this exact boardwalk. It feels so much more real now that we know IT is  HE! So many of you on instagram guessed right, which I think is so funny! How did you know?!?!

1st Trimester Deets

Thanks SO much for all of your sweet comments. :) So I don't want to bore you guys with pregnancy ramblings, but I absolutely love reading back through the archives of the bloggers I follow to when they were pregnant, so I will update you periodically. Let me know if you're interested or not! :)

Here's a list of some things that people keep asking me haha:

- How did I find out? I went to my cousins 29th birthday dinner, and after the meal I didn't feel quite right. I had a weird hunch, so in the morning I took a test and voila! Then I took about 10 other tests, hahaha! Matt was in Miami, so I told him over the phone because I was so excited and couldn't wait to share.

- Was I sick? Nope! I luckily did not have morning sickness, and my mom says she never did either. I was sooo tired, and felt really bloated and not like myself, but I never got sick, and continued working out all the way through.

- What were my first symptoms? Well, I cried at really silly things and was acting emotionally off. Right away I couldn't sleep through the night, when I am usually a solid sleeper, and I was having vivid bizzare dreams. Then my boobs grew maybe two cup sizes and that was NOT fun! haha! I was getting super hungry for sunny-side-up eggs, and felt much more ravenous than ever before. I think I gained maybe 4-6lbs in the first trimester.

- When did we first hear a heartbeat? I think around 7 weeks we heard the heartbeat! It was super fast at like 175 beats per minute, but it has since slowed down.

- Did anything out of the ordinary happen? At 8 weeks my progesterone levels dropped, so I had to take pills to increase it. It went from about 34 to 10, which is borderline scary low, so I was very nervous. It definitely made me wait to share, even with my parents.

- Do you like being pregnant? So far I am SO excited about our growing baby, but I sadly do not love how uncomfortable being pregnant is, and I am not even in the uncomfortable stages. I am always either super hungry or super full, and I feel like my body isn't my own. My boobs were soooo sore for months, and my palette for food is all different and weird. I'm in this weird stage where nobody can tell I am pregnant, but I think once I have a bump and can feel my baby I will enjoy it more.

- Do we know the sex? Yes, we found out at 14 weeks through the MaterniT21 test, and will share soon!
