SURPRISE: Our family is growing!

This has been one of the hardest secrets to keep (& I am an AWFUL secret keeper) but finally we can share our biggest secret ever... we made a human, we're pregnant! Baby Degreff is due in October!! We're SO excited to grow our clan (well, maybe Claude isn't excited to not be an only child-dog haha). The thing I didn't realize before becoming pregnant is just how scary and worrisome the first trimester is. There's so much waiting involved, so many big landmark weeks or doctors visits and so much of it is just trusting that your body is going to work right, which is really hard to do. I am a lover of being in control, so this past few months was not easy. I counted down the days to every doctors visit, and spent way too many hours reading mommy forums! I had no idea how much I would care about a blastocyst of cells growing inside of me from the get-go, but it is true. Those instincts kicked in so quickly for me, and I just wanted to protect and keep my baby safe from the very start, as I'm sure every mom does!

I also felt a weird anxiety about sharing, I am not sure if some of you felt this way too. It just felt so nice keeping it between Matt and I for as long as we could, and having it be our little secret. We shared with our family at around 10 weeks (I sent them this in the mail with tons of glitter in the envelope, needless to say it was one of those days I will never forget). After that we slowly shared the news with friends, and celebrated and then I felt ready for the world to know. I am so excited to bring you along on this journey that is truly surreal for me.

It's pretty awesome to think some of you witnessed our engagement, wedding and now our first baby on this blog! Hopefully I'll have a little bump to dress soon... We already know the gender and will be sharing really soon :)

Love a very excited Steffy & Matt! ♥♥

A Weekend Roatrip

Traveling upstate to Beacon, New Paltz, Cold Spring and all the cute little surrounding towns is one of our favorite things to do in Spring/ Summer / Fall. The vibe was SO different from the last time we went in the Fall! The blooms are unreal, and we finally upgraded to a 6-person tent for more room, which we named the "tent-mahal" because it's so big and luxurious. We camped and ate tacos & smores, and hiked around a bit too!

You can't go wrong with a weekend in upstate NY! :)

My Favorite Frye Boots (+ A Huge Frye/HauteLook Sale)

Spring came and went, or never really fully arrived. I was a bit bummed because I got amazing sandals from Frye that I've been dying to wear with a maxi dress, but instead I got to take these Frye Jackie Zip Short boots from HauteLook out for a spin, and they're just as wonderful! I usually lean toward boots with skinnier ankles, but for some reason these work perfectly with tights and skinny jeans, and I'm SUCH a fan of the beautiful color. They're perfect with a mustard cardi!

I'm super excited to share with you guys that HauteLook and The Frye Company are having a three-day flash sale today until April 22nd where you can snag men's and women's Frye boots, bags, accessories, etc. for up to 55% off. I'm drooling, because nothing gets me excited like high-quality leather. In case you've never heard of them, HauteLook is a flash sale site owned by Nordstrom. HauteLook makes returns easy by offering the option to return any items purchased at a Nordstrom Rack in your neighborhood. It's free to be a member, and they post new sales every day at 8am PST. I was pretty excited to find out about them, so hopefully you are too. :) Happy shopping!

*This post is in collaboration with HauteLook, but as always all opinions are my own!

How to post from IG to Twitter (With a PICTURE not a link!)

At an event this week, the topic of pushing your Instagram posts to Twitter came up. People said they were frustrated, because when they automate their Instagrams to Twitter, all they are able to post is a link (like below). Everyone knows tweets with images perform better, so this can be frustrating! Today we're going to fix this!

Have you heard of IFTTT? It stands for "If this, then that" and it's an automation site that allows you to create recipes (like if it is raining, then notify me via e-mail. or if I update my Facebook status, post it on Twitter).

It's quite easy to set up. Create an account on IFTTT and connect both your Instagram, and your Twitter accounts. Then find the below recipe, that states IF you instagram, then tweet. Turn on this recipe, and make sure to test that it works. Going forward, all of your instagram posts should show up as photos on Twitter!

Talking about spring (or lets be honest, lack thereof)

When I lived in Miami, and used to drip sweat while walking to work, I told myself I would never ever miss the sunshine and the heat. I still wouldn't trade NY for anything, but boy do I wish it was just 80 degrees already. It's been switching back and forth between cold and windy and rainy for what seems like forever, and I'm ready to be outside adventuring already! Matt and I took advantage of 1 sunny day and went for a hike (before trying shake shack for the first time)

... guys. The shake shack chicken sandwich is on a NEW LEVEL. How did we never go there before??? Oh right, because now we're fully addicted.

Long Beach Date Night in Ted Baker ♥ (+ a Sale!)

Since it's been warmer outside, it's been fun to put on fancier dresses for date night with Matt! I've been all about Mexican food lately, so we went out to Panchos which is a few minutes from our house. I felt so fancy, it made me feel like twirling!

I found this perfect Spring outfit at Ted Baker, I always love how feminine their pieces are, and I especially love the little hint of lace on this skater dress paired with the bow flats! Plus, this backpack is my new absolute favorite, I about died over it.

The good news is that Ted Baker is offering 25% off in all US and Canada stores on April 7th and 8th PLUS an online exclusive that starts April 6th. If you're going to shop with the discount, definitely go on April 7th because they're having an in-store event across all standalone stores with music and drinks! ;)

*This post is sponsored by Ted Baker, but of course all opinions are my own! :)

Exploring Sagamore Hill

Teddy Roosevelt loved Sagamore Hill and spent most of his life there, and since he is one of Matt's favorite presidents we toured his home a few weeks back and fell in love. The property surrounding his home is beautiful. We saw it covered in snow, and we were lucky enough to see it in bloom! There's a mile hiking trail which leads into this beautiful river, which makes for a lovely day-trip.

Also, it's dog friendly! Long Island has beautiful hikes and parks, so long as you look for them. The weather has been unreal, and it feels good to not need a big heavy coat! I finally caved and bought some Vans after Matt begged me for a while, and not only are they adorable but they're SO comfortable!
