Like-new

Spring is (basically) here, and we've been outside soaking in the gorgeous warm[er] weather. Every time the seasons change, I always like to add a few "new" staples to freshen up my closet, but it's definitely not the most affordable hobby a gal can have. I was so excited to find thredUP this season. They sell women's and kids secondhand clothes from brands like Madewell & UO (my entire outfit is Urban from thredUP!) but for way way less money - plus it's easier than sifting through a consignment store.

When my clothes arrived, they were tagged like new and in a cute polka dotted box, which definitely makes the experience feel special. I bought this entire outfit for way less than the cost of 1 new sweater from the stores I usually shop at. PLUS the site is super simple for shopping. ok, last exciting thing - They've upcycled 14,009,055 pieces of clothing as of the end of 2015. I have always been a fan of shopping secondhand before new, and this just makes doing that even easier. :)

*This post post was in partnership with Thredup, but they are freaking awesome, and all opinions are my own.

corduroy

Similar overall dress | J.Crew turtleneck

It has been grey out, and quite warm which I am a HUGE fan of! I've been busy over here between working, styling blog shoots and figuring out how to find time to travel with matt and tag along on some of his fun journeys. He is headed to South Africa for work (I couldn't make that one :( ) and then we are both traveling to Portland, Oregon WHICH I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED ABOUT. Any suggestions on things to do would be much appreciated - I've heard to try Voodoo donuts, which we will 100% do.

love & casper

We started our Sunday off with a fresh new mattress! It was pretty exciting for us, because I've had my mattress since I was in (probably) middle school, making it over a decade old. It was time for a change! Most of the reason why I never replaced it was because of the awful inconvenience of mattress shopping (usually in gross weird mattress stores), and then having to figure out delivery, etc. Ugh.

Anyway, Casper is freaking awesome, and they sent it to us in under a week. The box is super exciting to find at your doorstep, and the mattress opens up on it's own! we are in love! we had a fun morning setting it up, sneaking kisses, and introducing claude to her new favorite spot, the bed!

Empire State // Miracles

Boden coat | UO beanie | UO skirt | Charlotte Russe top

i'm at a loss for words after a wonderful day, so i will just leave you with this poem:

"Why, who makes much of a miracle?
As to me I know of nothing else but miracles,
Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,
Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,
...
To me every hour of the light and dark is a miracle, Every cubic inch of space is a miracle, Every square yard of the surface of the earth is spread with    the same, Every foot of the interior swarms with the same."
- Walt Whitman

S N O W ❆ D A Y

Similar hat | Similar sweater | UO tote

When there's snow, there's only two options - stay cozy inside, or embrace it and play in it! I had so much fun, and I honestly am not quite sick of snow yet, not even close!

Two Years of Marriage

Yes, we are that cheesy couple who were married on Valentines weekend. ;) I cannot believe how fast time has flown by. I mean it has, and it hasn't. Year one was tough, nobody warned me how tough marriage can be and my expectations were super high going into it. but we got through it. And then year two... year two was amazing. it's like we just figured out how to do this thing! i am sure, of course, there will be ups and downs, but gosh am i lucky to have found matt, and to share my life with him. I really thought when i was a little girl, and even on my wedding day, that marriage was like a fairy-tale, and it's not, but it's even better in so many ways.

We have so many exciting things coming in year three, and the best part is that i get to do it all with matt (& claude!) i had this really small, but really powerful moment the other day before matt left on a trip for a week. i smelled his skin and gripped his arm and thought how empty i would be without him. and i prayed for a second (and i'm not really a religious person) that he would always be there. the longer we're together, the more it really sinks in how lucky we are. Happy 2nd anniversary matty.

Bell Bottom Overalls

Madewell Overalls | UO tote | Rayban sunnies

The craziest thing about time, for me, is that as it passes by we so quickly become readjusted and forget where we once were standing. It's currently 22 degrees, feels like 10 outside my house, but in Miami it was still 85 degrees! I totally cannot remember that feeling of not having seasons, and not having to put a coat on before leaving the house. It has been 1.5 years since we left, and already it seems like lightyears away.

Tulum, Mexico ☀

overalls (similar) | similar striped tee | Ray Ban sunnies

I arrived home from Mexico late last night, and have a ton to catch up on! I spent four days in Tulum for my best friends bachelorette party, soaking in the sunshine and exploring all of the beautiful beaches. I was surprised how different Tulum was from what I expected - definitely more touristy, but also with a lot more to do than I thought! We spent a full day at Akumal, which was beautiful - the sand was so white and the water was so blue, it looked unreal.

We spent our second day exploring the Cenotes dos ojos, which are caves filled with a beautiful swimming hole and bats! I was shocked how cute bats are ;)! We rented an Air BNB for the trip, which worked out really well for a huge group, because we had a van rental that was included, and could make small meals and coffee at the house. It was lovely to be together with all of my college buddies! Enjoy the pictures!

Around The House [& A Fun Project!]

West Elm Couch | Crosley record player | West Elm media console |  West Elm rug

This next week is filled with FUN home projects! Here's a few before photos, I cannot wait to share the after shots! We are patching up  a doorway into our 2nd bedroom (it has 2 doors for some reason?!) and renovating the dining room completely! When we moved in, we just stuck the furniture that we had inside. I never hated it, but also never quite loved it! I can't wait to reveal how it comes out! ;)
