Ohhhhh the feeling of summer. This weekend we finally finished decorating our deck, and grilled saturday and sunday. the smell of grilled food is a new level of amazing!

It has been so great to just let me hair get frizzy and soak in the beachy vibes of long beach. i EVEN DRANK MY FIRST PINA COLADA IN YEARS this weekend. it makes me want to wear denim and tees every single day, and be super low maintenance. there's ways to do this and still be cute, amiright?!

Something i've learned about clothes, especially recently, is that it is OKAY to repeat. I used to have this feeling like i needed new cute exciting things all the time to stay relevant, but in reality it's a wonderful feeling to find things you love enough to rewear over and over again. It is even better when you pull your summer clothing out of storage and remember you own something as fun as a dress like this!! :)

I styled this dress similarly here, and have re-worn it a few times this spring with a denim jacket and again with a chambray layered on top. what is your favorite summer staple?

The best secret antique spots in upstate NY

Finding antique/ vintage gold mines can be tough. Yes, you want to find somewhere with amazing pieces, but it also has to be a reasonable price. There's a lot of amazing antique stores in Brooklyn (love Junk!) but everything is about double the price from upstate NY! Upstate truly is special, and it has been fun taking advantage. Here's three local spots that we keep returning to!

1. Main Street Antiques- 23 Main Street, Accord NY
Ron Sharkey is "The Godfather of Antiques" and he has an INCREDIBLE eye. He has a store in High Falls called Main Street Antiques, and also has barn sales in this beautiful barn on Sundays. From gorgeous cupboards to perfect antiques lamps, everything he sells is covetable (and affordable!)

2. Dickinsons Antiques - 440 Main Street, Beacon NY
The owner has good taste- this place is a gold mine for household trinkets. We bought incredible antlers mounted to wood, and it cost about $60. The prices are not as low as the stores in High Falls, but still definitely worth a visit, especially if you're looking for quirky decor for your home (i mean look at that adorable watering can, how did i pass that up?!?!)

3. Red Barn - Unknown
This secret spot is so secret that I cannot remember where it is! It was on the drive from New Paltz to Kerhonkson, on a small little road. The antiques inside were nothing to write home about, but the barn and the way it was setup was incredible!

Oh how lovely 3-day weekends are. AND it is officially "summer" up here, according to vacation rentals and such! We drove two hours upstate, and spent time around Woodstock, New Paltz, Beacon and all of my favorite towns to visit and antique in. It's incredible how close you can find such a different world in NY... it feels like the quiet life upstate, and it is perfect for a getaway.

It is finally warm enough to wear cropped tops, and I was so excited for this one! It has little lemons on it... I mean come onnnn! Who else is ecstatic for this weather???

I've been having a bit of fun adding small touches to our home this past week or so! I've added an adorable mirrored bar cart tray, gold stamped an accent wall with some VW punch buggies and added this adorable garland from Paper Fox LA, which brightens up our room!

This weekend we are headed to upstate NY to hike and snag some antiques for the house! I'll snap lots of pictures to share after the long weekend! What are you doing for Memorial Day?? Xo

This weather has been something else - 60s and 70s every day, perfect walking around the neighborhood weather, sunny skies. I live in a perfect spot to walk around now, and there's a farmers market every Saturday that Matt and I pass through! I wore this to grab some coffee, and pick up some fresh veggies :)

I've been watching Mad Men non-stop, and am almost caught up.. although social media did me the favor of spoiling the finale. But seriously... STEGGY FOREVER. Do any of you guys watch it?!

I thrifted this lovely mustard yellow turtleneck years ago, and cut it into a cropped top. I didn't realize then just how much of a staple it would become, but i've worn it time and time again, including here, here and here! that's one of my favorite things about clothing - you never know just HOW sentimental a top or a bag may become, or how much it may mean to you when you buy it, but it's always very specific pieces that you cannot live without.

collecting special items like this top feels the same as collecting little memories for me. such delicate little seconds, or glances can consume you for days or years - just like a t-shirt can stick around and be handed down to your kids. i'm excited for the future memories in this top (and here's to hoping it is never lost in the wash :) )

There's this weird thing that happens when you're a blogger... you start to think of your outfits as either "blogworthy" or "normal." Sometimes when I put on a pair of jeans, or overalls with a plain t-shirt, i think WOW i look so so normal, like i'm unworthy of being a fashion blogger, and that pushes me to spice it up. Like if one of you ran into me, you'd be disappointed or something. This feeling is what causes that "blogger pressure" that is so often thrown around (and also maybe snickered at). I was really relieved when my blog friend Kallie told me she feels the exact same way! How many of you out there feel that same way?

Maybe if i didn't have blog pressure, I would have just styled this with a long sleeve striped tee and called it a day. The pressure IS motivating sometimes, but sometimes it's also so discouraging!
