NYC is WOW amazing now. Some days it is 70 degrees, some days it is 50 and you're like WHYYY I thought it was springgggg, but the best months are ahead of us (as they always are) and I can't flipping wait.

Matt and I have been really thinking lately about why we don't live in Brooklyn/ NYC. Long Beach is my hometown, and I know it is where i want to raise my family and be until i'm old and grey, but I just don't know if it is where i want to be YET. every time we have a day like this one, we leave energized and alive and excited about how close we live to this beautiful place, and then we wonder why we don't live in it. Any Brooklynites have any words of wisdom for us? Xo

So nobody every warned me, and now I am going to warn you... Red hair is TOUGH to remove guys. This is not something you should do on a whim (like i did)!! It is expensive and time consuming to try to go back to my original color of dirty blonde :( It's okay, being a strawberry blonde/ redhead is V fun, but i feel bad for my poor over dyed hair. Here's my lighter shade, it's SORT OF blonde lol. we snapped these on a walk to our local coffee shop. it was a beautiful evening ♥

If you ever find yourself in Long Island, our very favorite diner is back in action! The Laurel, which was built in 1932, closed its doors during the winter to renovate, and we were SO happy to see it reopen, plus it looks amazing!

The best part (aside from being a few blocks from our house) is that the counter has walk-up service, so we can grab iced coff on hot days! We've already gone back since these photos, and are going to grab sundaes sometime soon! Do you love diners as much as we do?

I can honestly say that until this day, i forgot what the feeling of sun on my skin felt like - but oh how quickly i remembered and i never ever want to wear sleeves again. funny story - so i am REALLY white, probably the whitest i've ever been. Remember when i was THIS tan? yeah me either...

So anyway, i go to the beach on Saturday, and like an overprotective mom i lather myself up with SPF 50 thinking i'm so fare skinned i will still get color. My friend meets me at the beach for about 30 minutes... lo and behold I get ZERO color, and he gets tan. wahhhhh. looks like next time i am going to wear much less screen because this girl needs to say bye to being a ghost! :)

chambray uniform

This is hands-down my go to look as of lately for work. Black pants and chambray always do the trick for me... I pop in a cute necklace or some patterned sneaks, and it feels my own!

The weather has been just glorious! It always feels like I'm missing something without having a coat to carry, but i DO NOT miss it! I spent the day on the beach and at a BBQ on saturday, and it made me realize just how much i took the miami sun for granted when i had it all year long! that's the beauty of the seasons... you don't have time to take any for granted because they don't stick around for too long! hope you had a lovely weekend. xo

most of the photos shared here are digital, and most of the content i share is outfits, but i want to add some new fresh things to this space, so i've decided to share some of our film moments! we are always snapping film pictures, and matt and i develop the negatives ourselves (see how here). matt does a lot of the shooting, but i am trying to get back into it myself!

do any of you shoot film? these were shot on a Yashica Electro 35 GTN in coney island, brooklyn and around our neighborhood! let me know if you enjoy seeing film pictures, and i will keep sharing! xo

There's nothing greater than rediscovering spring clothes - especially since mine were once my "year round" clothes. It's much easier to dress cute when it's warmer outside, that's for sure.

I've been feeling really sick lately, I am hoping it's just seasonal allergies, or a cold that's going to pass. What do allergies even feel like, and do you guys get them? We snapped these after work yesterday when we set out to take a long neighborhood walk. About 2 seconds into being outside we realized how windy it is, and we snapped these and went back home. LOL. It's funny how suddenly the effects of the weather make a much bigger impact when you have a blog. "WHAT? WIND? BUT MY SWEATER WON'T LAY RIGHT" ?!?! At least we can laugh at ourselves, right?

WOW is Spring incredible. I've never really felt it before in my adult life - maybe a few years back when I lived in Brooklyn, but I don't remember it. It's like... one day you just KNOW, now it's Spring, and everyone ditches their jackets and wears sweaters and dresses and walks around outside for hours and hours. I truly feel like a little kid experiencing these seasons, and I am soaking in each and every one! I am sooooooo pale, and actually a little uncomfortable showing skin like I used to in Miami, but I am sure that will fade as it gets warmer!

What did all you northerners do on your first spring weekend?!? Matt and I went and saw TWO shows (Stars & Moon Hooch) and we brewed our own beer and walked a ton.

Spring is here, music festival season is here, and I for one am EXCITED. I am not lucky enough to be heading to Coachella, but I am roadtripping to Shaky Knees in Atlanta in a few weeks, which has got ME shaky, yip yip yippee! In the spirit of the season, here's an outfit that would be perfect for a music festival. I picked up some much needed goodies from Kohl's, including this backpack to carry cameras, water, etc. and this adorable polka dotted dress. Are any of you attending any festivals?
