HELLO!

 photo IMG_5975_3.jpg

I'm Steffy, and I live in my favorite place on earth, Long Beach NY with my two loves & our dachshund. In this space we share our adventures around NY, cozy days at home and tons of outfits! Grab a cup of coffee and lets get to know each other!

NEVER MISS A POST

that time when our VW van broke down in Kings Canyon.

excessive photos alert. there were so many more, trust me. this is where our journey ended. our little van named Sunny D broke down when we entered kings canyon 6,000 feet up. I guess the elevation didn't help her out much, and she wouldn't start. we ended up having to get her towed all the way down to the closest town and rent a car for our drive back to LA. It all added to the experience i think :) i wouldn't trade the warm and cozy nights sleeping in the VW for ANYTHING. matt would cook fajita dinner and i'd make after-dinner coffee, and we would sit in our cozy pj's and read. it's a trip i will hold onto forever. my "pre-wedding moon" :)

i thrifted this sweater specifically for the trip. it reminded me of california for some reason. it didn't keep me THAT cozy, but it looks pretty good next to the van! normal posts will be back now! xo!

sweater: vintage
skirt: romwe
shoes: vintage
hat: h & m

  16. At least Sunny D had a good run, from the looks of these pics. Really reminds you how symbiotic our relationship is with our means of transportation. They tend to speak of our identity, a 'second skin' in a lot of ways. Hence, vehicles deserve your attention whenever they break down or starts to act up in the most erratic ways.

  17. Did the mechanic determine the cause of the malfunction? It could have been a faulty radiator or something. That would be really unfortunate. Still, I’m glad the experience gave you an opportunity to take all these lovely photos, and a chance to have a very different experience of the park.

  18. Those are very righteous exploits you have gotten yourself into. It's just a bummer that you had to be greeted by a car breakdown while at it. That really wasn't necessary, but I guess that should be a good starting point for all involved to consider improving their vehicles in that rather stationary city. Anyway, thanks for sharing that! All the best to you!
