NEVER MISS A POST

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

suzy bishop & sam shakusky.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! i hope everyone stayed safe in the hurricane. it's a post filled with mixed emotions, because many of my family members lost cars and had flooded houses from the storm. they are on my mind. i am very happy they are all okay, and thankful for that. also, yesterday i got a promotion at work! i cannot believe how much i like the company i work for. i love it, basically.

matt and i planned this costume the second we walked out of seeing moonrise kingdom months ago. we both adored the movie (as we do all wes anderson films) and started to collect the pieces we needed. i don't think we can ever top this one.

on saturday night we headed out to moonfest on clematis street in downtown west palm beach with some friends in costume. we're also going to be wearing them again tonight! you can never go wrong dressing up twice. have a lovely and SPOOKY evening!

i never met a pumpkin i didn't like.

big pumpkins & little pumpkins, i just love them all. growing up in my family, halloween was a big deal. every year we went to a pumpkin patch and my two brothers and i each carved our own pumpkin. we always dressed up, and we always trick-or-treated until our pillowcases were full of candy (i trick-or-treated until i moved away for college at 18 LOL). my freshman year in college, i kept the tradition alive by purchasing a pumpkin in union square in NY and walking 15 blocks with it to my dorm just so I could carve it in my hallway. everyone thought i was nuts, but who cares, right? When I went to school in Orlando, halloween was always a big fiasco. i would have different costumes for different nights. it feels sort of weird being a little older and not having as much going on for the holiday, but carving a pumpkin will always be on my agenda. my kids are going to be SPIRITED.

we drove all the way out to homestead to a fun little farm and found our little guy :) i love eating the seeds too! mmm ! hope you all had a lovely weekend, only 3 days til' halloween!

living in chambray.

if j.crew has taught me anything, it's that you can never own or wear too much denim/ chambray. i honestly didn't own any chambray tops until this year, but i love how versatile this one is. i wore this outfit to work. i feel sort of silly sharing work outfits because they are not 100 % my style, more like a mixture of me + j.crew, but i loved how casual and easy this one felt.

florida is in full "fall swing", meaning it just became windier and less humid. i don't mind though. it makes me want to walk everywhere and spend every day outside. we've been in the midst of maybe moving to south beach after dealing with a lot at our current home, so i will keep you posted. we found a place we just love, and are waiting to hear back. i honestly just dream about walking and biking everywhere, spending LIFE on lincoln rd, sunday antique fairs, beach days and of course FINALLY getting our puppy! our location now is very isolated from outdoorsy activities because it isn't the best neighborhood, but we love the apartment itself. i guess if i learned anything it's that the neighborhood matters just as much (if not more) than the actual inside of the apartment. oh well! have a happy wednesday!

p.s. added lots of vintage to my store!
